Councils and committees
Within Jernkontoret there are nine councils or committees which act as advisory bodies to Jernkontoret’s board and management on different issues.
In June 2022 Jernkontoret’s Environmental Council conducted a visit to Ovako, the engineering steel manufacturer in Hällefors. Within the council, representatives of the iron and steel companies support one another concerning different environmental issues – nationally, inside the EU and at the international level. Jernkontoret’s council has a broad representation from the iron and steel companies and is reinforced with specialists from Jernkontoret.
Jernkontoret’s councils monitor developments within their respective area of responsibility. They also initiate strategies for industrial operations and prepare statements of opinion on issues.
